Solid boards - prefinished
They might be multilayer (the most technologically advanced version) or made of solid wood. They are glued to the sub-floor or fixed on boarding joists, they can also be laid as a floating floor. They are ready to be laid. Varnished versions are covered, depending on parquet's class, from 5 to 8 layers of highest quality lacquer. Each of these layers is UV rays - hardened, that's why this floor is lasting in a good condition for much longer time then in case of traditional technology. For the floor space of 100 sqm the time from the beginning of works till the moment of using the floor is approximately 5-8 days.

Traditional solid boards (unfinished)
They are made of solid wood. After having fixed them to the sub- floor, there must be a several-week break in works in order to stabilize the wood. After this time, the boards are polished and they achieve their final look by varnishing, oiling, waxing etc. However, the inconveniences involved with this long term of fixing this kind of flooring are the reason why their popularity is getting smaller and the popularity of prefinished boards is rising.
